Why Abundance Comes to Those Who Envision It, Who Do the Work - and Why It's Lacking in Those That Don't

Introduction: The Power of Envisioning Abundance

On my 42nd birthday, I decided 42 was going to be grateful and to see and feel the abundance in my life.  I listened to my year of 41 playlist one last time and then started on music I would let move through me for 42 - and it was all about abundance, being enough, connecting to my place of expansion.  Within 2 weeks of doing this, The Other Side with Gypsy Hart podcast numbers doubled and the blog was gaining further traction.  I was kind of feeling as if the universe was answering really quickly haha! Amazing.

But what felt even more amazing, was that on my daily walks, I was noticing life was a little more. I loved the jagged rocks, the dirt paths, the cold air on my skin, and the feeling of being quiet in the forest while I watched the sunrise. It was as if I was reminding myself there was beauty everywhere, I just had to look.

And the very first place to look was at the beauty within myself.  That’s right, it’s like I always say, you have to see it within to feel it around you.

But why, why is this belief of abundance so beneficial?

Well, in a realm often overshadowed by talk of scarcity, shifting our focus and tapping power of envisioning abundance helps us adopt a mindset that attracts and brings forth abundance in every facet of our lives.

Picture this: instead of dwelling on what we lack, we redirect our attention to what we already have and what we can create. It's about embracing the belief that there's more than enough for everyone, us included. This mindset opens up a world of possibilities and opportunities waiting to be seized.  (You can also check out The Other Side blog post about my personal experience with the scarcity mindset and the beliefs that blocked my ability to feel like there was ‘enough’ to go around.)

When we make it a habit to emit good energy and daydream about the awesome stuff we want, it's like we're tapping into this cool energy of abundance. Our thoughts turn into magnets, pulling in all the good things – resources, relationships, experiences – that totally boost our well-being.

And guess what? It's not just a thinking game. Dreaming big and seeing abundance everywhere actually kick-starts us into action mode. Suddenly, we're all pumped to chase down opportunities, make those smart moves, and keep going strong, even when challenges pop up. This whole go-getter vibe? It's like our secret weapon for turning those dreams of abundance into reality!

The Importance of Taking Action and Doing the Work

When it comes to getting that abundant mindset, it's like finding the perfect balance between manifesting, mindset vibes, and taking action. Think of it as a friendly trio working together to make your life awesome!

Now, let's dive into why doing a bit of inner work is like the secret sauce in the recipe for abundance:

  • Spotting Limiting Beliefs: Inner work helps you figure out and tackle those beliefs hanging out in your subconscious that say, "you can't." Once you recognize and challenge them, you're breaking down barriers to abundance.
  • Positive Vibes Only: It's all about creating a positive mindset by giving yourself some love and focusing on uplifting thoughts. Positivity becomes this magnetic force that pulls in all the good stuff. Swap out those negative thoughts for some positive affirmations, and you've got an environment perfect for abundance.
  • Healing the Heart: Abundance isn't just about money and things – it's also about feeling emotionally awesome. Inner work lets you deal with past stuff, heal those emotional wounds, and let go of negativity. This healing process opens up space for good vibes, resilience, and attracting abundance in all sorts of ways.
  • Living Your Values: Doing a bit of inner digging often means reflecting on what really matters to you. When your actions align with your core values and you're on a path that fits your purpose, that's when you start feeling fulfilled and abundant.
  • Getting to Know You: Inner work boosts self-awareness, helping you understand your strengths, weaknesses, passions, and talents. Knowing yourself inside out is key to making smart decisions, setting meaningful goals, and walking the path that truly vibes with the real you – all crucial stuff on your journey to abundance.
  • Bouncing Back Stronger: Inner work builds up your resilience muscles. It's like having a toolkit to handle challenges and setbacks. Resilience is gold in the abundance game – it helps you bounce back from hiccups, learn from the ups and downs, and keep pushing forward with that positive mindset.
  • Rocking Relationships: Abundance isn't just a solo gig; it's about having awesome connections too. Inner work contributes to better people skills, communication, and empathy. Strong relationships and social vibes are total game-changers for a seriously abundant life.

Inner work is like the behind-the-scenes magic that sets the stage for a life full of abundance and good vibes. While working through the process of inner work, that time is also the perfect time of transition to reflect on goals, plan creation, and what efforts need to be made in order to attract what it is you are manifesting.

The Role of Beliefs and Mindset in Attracting Abundance

Damn beliefs.  If only they weren’t an actual barrier.  And mindset too.

But they are, they are like the VIP pass to bringing in all that abundant goodness into our lives. Sometimes, though, our own doubts and past bumps in the road can act like roadblocks, keeping us from that abundance jackpot. But guess what? We can totally shake things up by consciously shifting our mindset to embrace abundance – it's like unlocking a whole new world of awesome possibilities!

So, here's a cool trick I mentioned earlier: get into the groove of a daily routine where you soak in and really feel those positive affirmations. It's like a daily dose of good vibes! Repeat statements that shout out abundance and prosperity, and watch as your subconscious mind gets a major makeover, ditching the negative thoughts and self-doubt for empowering beliefs that are all about attracting abundance.

Now, let's keep it real – this process is like planting seeds. It takes some time for those new beliefs to settle in and become part of the way we see things. And hey, if there are affirmations that feel a bit awkward or get a bit of side-eye from your inner self, write them down. Those might just be pointing out some limiting beliefs or old wounds that need a bit of attention.

I'll spill a little secret: I've been tuning into this 26-minute abundance meditation every single day since I turned 42. At first, I was kinda repelling some of the words, but you know what? Slowly but surely, they're starting to stick. I'm not fighting it, just letting it seep in, and it's working its magic. Patience, feeling, and dedication, my friend.

The Connection Between Gratitude and Abundance

Have you ever noticed how gratitude and abundance seem to go hand in hand? It's like they have a secret connection that brings more positivity into our lives. When I started to be thankful and grateful for different things that were happening in my life, I started to notice more of them.  And when I spent time complaining or focused on what I was lacking, I had more of that.  (More personal stories on The Other Side with Gypsy Hart podcast about the complain training and attracting negativity or abundance).

One way to cultivate gratitude is through a simple practice: saying out loud to someone 3 things per day that you are grateful for.  By having someone witness your gratitude, it takes on it’s own meaning.  You might be hearing all of the rage about gratitude journaling, and it can be good, but there is a difference.  Something written for no one to see and for you to feel can have it’s own positive impact, but having someone witness your gratitude shifts the energy and the mindset in a profound way.

Regardless of the technique you adopt, by taking a few minutes each day to write down things you're grateful for, say them out loud or sing them to your dog, you shift your focus towards the positive aspects of your life. This practice not only boosts your mood but also helps you attract more abundance.  When we express gratitude for what we already have, we send out signals to the universe that we are open and appreciative. And in return, the universe responds by bringing us more of what we desire - whether it's financial abundance, loving relationships, or even personal growth opportunities.

Personally, I like to say 3 things to my family that I am grateful for each night at dinner.  I also like to listen to songs reflecting my gratitude and sing them out loud to my dog on walks through the forest - but that is just me!

How Fear and Negative Thinking Block Abundance

Ever felt like fear and negative thinking are holding you back from achieving abundance in your life? You're not alone. Sweet friend, often all we can see are the barriers and the blocks because we struggle with the fear of failure and have adopted a scarcity mindset that prevents us from embracing opportunities and unlocking our full potential.

And you know that fear of messing up can really mess with our decisions, making us question ourselves and avoid looking beyond what we know or what we are comfortable with. But here's the deal – failure is just part of expanding and learning. If we flip our perspective on it, we can overcome this fear and open ourselves up to new possibilities

Oh, and negative thinking? Yeah, that's another roadblockl. When we're stuck on what could go wrong or keep replaying past screw-ups, we basically set ourselves up for a shortage of good stuff. We have to challenge those beliefs that hold us back, boost our self-belief, and surround ourselves with positive vibes. It's the kind of 'work' we might forget about on our quest for abundance.

Cultivating a Mindset of Abundance in Everyday Life

Living an abundant life is all about getting that positive energy going and adding daily habits that spread good vibes and prosperity in every part of your life. It's not just about the cool stuff – it's about having a mindset that's all about being thankful and rocking abundance in every way possible.

So, here are 5 ways to embrace the abundance dream:

  • Gratitude Blast: Take a moment each day to think about what makes you smile. It's like a magic trick that turns your focus from not having enough to having loads of awesome stuff.
  • Dream Big: Use cool techniques like dreaming up awesome scenarios or telling yourself you're a total rockstar. Believe it, buddy! You deserve all the good stuff coming your way.
  • Surround Yourself with Awesomeness: Hang out with people who lift you up and make you feel like a superhero. Forget the negativity – it's so last season.
  • TLC Time: Look after yourself like you're the most important person on the planet. Do things that make you happy and keep that soul of yours nourished.
  • Spread the Love: Share your good vibes, time, and talents with others. Being all generous creates this amazing feeling of having more than enough and builds these awesome connections with folks.

And remember, making this abundance affirmation is a lifestyle, for a lifetime.  It’s not a 1 and done kind of situation.

Embody an Abundant Mindset and Take Action to Manifest the Life You Desire

In wrapping it up, let's talk about rocking that abundant mindset and making things happen in the life you're dreaming of. Instead of getting stuck in scarcity mode and all those limits, how about focusing on the crazy number of opportunities right in front of you?

By switching up that mindset, you'll see the doors swing wide open to new possibilities, bringing in all sorts of positive experiences. Seriously, believe that there's a ton of success, love, and happiness out there for everyone, especially you.

But here's the scoop – just thinking abundantly won't cut it. You gotta take action, set those intentions, make a plan, and feel your way towards your goals and dreams.

And hey, keep in mind that manifesting your dreams takes some serious effort and sticking power. Stay true to your vision, even when life throws those curveballs your way. Trust the process, have faith in yourself and the universe, and keep pushing forward.

So, go on, grab that abundant mindset, believe in the incredible person you are, and take some inspired action to craft the life you've been daydreaming about. The power to make it all happen? Yep, it's right there within you – time to let it loose!

Yes, I did sound like a rah rah motivational speaker there, but I’m trying to pump up abundance so going overboard on the abundance seems apropos.
